Jaci and Rick chose Green Mountain Falls and Old Colorado City for their engagement photos and we were happy to oblige. Green Mountain Falls is one of Colorado’s many hidden gems. It was saved by heroic fire fighters as the Waldo Canyon Fire raged just to the north this summer. It gets chilly quite quickly in the mountains as the sun goes down, so after getting some good shots in this sleepy little town our next stop was Old Colorado City. The drop in elevation and return of the sun warmed Jaci and Rick up a bit. We had a great time exploring, shooting, and getting to know this fun couple. Congratulations once again, Jaci and Rick, and we’ll see you in January!

Teresa and Brock were married on a perfect September day. Brock’s grandfather performed the ceremony, which took place just as he was celebrating his 61st anniversary with his bride. Teresa and Brock chose their wedding date for that very reason. The day featured not one but two receptions–a cake reception immediately following the ceremony and a formal reception in the evening. We had a great time capturing the day and following are some of our favorites. Congratulations to a wonderful couple and may you enjoy 61+ years together!

Kara and Patrick are a lot of fun and very much in love. It shows in these photos as all we really had to do was click the shutter. We were excited when Kara and Patrick chose North Cheyenne Cañon Park for their engagement photo session. We’re blessed to have some awesome parks in Colorado Springs. Cheyenne Cañon is one of our favorites and a perfect location for engagement photos. Rain was threatening over the mountains, but not long after we arrived the sun peeked through the clouds. It turned out to be great evening! By the way, be sure to scroll to the end to see our encounter with a mother bear and her cub!

Congratulations once again, Kara & Patrick!

We shot Ashley’s senior portraits last fall in Manitou Springs. Well, an entire school year has gone by and Ashley is a new graduate. We visited the Cordera Community Center which provided an excellent backdrop for these photos. All our senior portrait packages come with a cap & gown mini session, so we got together and shot some frames with Ashley sporting her school colors and diploma. These photos are a great companion to your senior portraits, and a great way to remember your last days of high school.

Congratulations once again and best of luck in your future endeavors, Ashley!

If the engagement portrait session is just a preview of what’s to come on the big day, we have a lot to look forward to with Teresa and Brock. Teresa is an Olympic hopeful in shooting and has her sights (literally) set on London this summer. Some guys need to be kept in line with expert marksmanship like Teresa’s, but not Brock–he’s a gentleman and all around great guy. They make an awesome couple and are a pleasure to work with.

Naturally our first stop was Teresa’s home, the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, where many of America’s top athletes train. Next we went to Monument Valley Park, downtown, and finally a super-secret location known for red rock formations and breathtaking views of Pikes Peak :).

It’s nice to have great couples or beautiful locations to photograph, but having both makes our job a lot easier. Thanks again, Teresa and Brock, we’ll see you in September!
